I just read your post on Fortytu, and very much appreciate your insights. I completely agree with your comments about the limitations of polls and the fact that their outcome is dependent on questions that the ‘experts’ put together. We do need a better way to not only learn what people “really” think, but to help us to sharpen our own thinking on issues.

I’ve done lots of research related to this topic, and would love to share ideas if you’re interested.

You know, I think there’s something to be said for striking up discussion and asking people the questions that need to be asked, but at the same juncture, I think this forum already exists via discussion forums. Perhaps you’re suggesting a format that is hard to articulate and runs more efficiently than those already out there?

I think that people are going to remain as complacent and as dumb as they wish to until they’re physically pushed into action or until another leader comes along and tells them what to do. Though there is something to be said for information exchange and the effect it has on heightening our collective awareness.

I dunno. I’ve veered from the internet chat forums these days in exchange for coffee shops and sidewalks.

Saw your posting and had to comment. To make a long story short…same scenario happened to me at the same company back in July. Expected it to come as well, but in about 1 month got quickly picked up by MS at Redmond WA.
